“Positive and flexible action that can build bridges”
The Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union has set out to provide positive and flexible action that can build bridges. The spirit guiding the Presidency’s Cultural Programme naturally coincides with this.
From 1 January until the end of June, Portugal will be showing the great width and depth of its rich culture, offering a warm welcome to Europe and the rest of the world as it demonstrates the relevance today of the European values of solidarity, convergence and cohesion.
Through theatre, cinema, music, dance and the visual arts, as some of the forms of artistic expression employed by Portuguese artists, The Portuguese Presidency will confirm the importance of a resilient, social, green, digital and global Europe.
