The Secretary of State for European Affairs, Ana Paula Zacarias, will be taking part in the plenary session of the European Parliament, to be held in Brussels on 9 and 10 February.

Under the scope of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU), Ana Paula Zacarias will be representing the Council of the EU in the debates where its presence is required.

The Secretary of State will take part in the following debates:

9 February: 07h30 (08h30 – Brussels time)

• Creation of a Recovery and Resilience Facility
• De facto prohibition of abortion in Poland

10 February: 08h00 (09h00 – Brussels time)

• Status report on the EU strategy on vaccination against COVID-19

10 February: 14h00 (15h00 – Brussels time)

• Democratic scrutiny of the mass media and protection of fundamental rights
• 25 years after the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action: future challenges for women’s rights

 

On 10 February, at 13h30 (14h30 – Brussels time), Ana Paula Zacarias will also be signing several legislative acts with the European Parliament on behalf of the Council of the EU.
