The Portuguese Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Augusto Santos Silva, is chairing the first informal video conference of Trade Ministers under the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU this Tuesday, 2 March, at 09h00 (Lisbon time).
The main goal of this meeting, in virtual format and chaired from Brussels, is to have a preliminary discussion on the European Commission's communication on the Trade Policy Review – An Open, Sustainable and Assertive Trade Policy, released on 18 February. The result of this debate will help to prepare the formal conclusions of the council, which the Portuguese Presidency intends to adopt during this half-year.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Augusto Santos Silva, will be giving a joint press conference with the Vice-President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis, in virtual format.
