An international webinar on “Gender equality as a driver for recovery” will be held on 5 March next, at 09h00 (Lisbon time), jointly organised by the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE).
The webinar will be presenting and discussing the results of the research note on gender equality and the socioeconomic impacts of COVID-19, prepared by the EIGE for the Portuguese Presidency, while also marking the anniversary of the European Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025.
The session will be opened by the Portuguese Minister of State for the Presidency, Mariana Vieira da Silva, followed by a speech from the European Commissioner for Equality, Helena Dalli, who will review the first year of the European Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025.
Also taking part in this meeting will be the Director of EIGE, Carlien Scheele, who will be presenting the results of the research notes. These shall be commented on by Lina Salanauskaite, EIGE researcher, and Lina Coelho, researcher and national gender equality expert for the European Commission.
Journalist Catarina Marques Rodrigues will be moderating the video conference and questions will be taken from the virtual audience.
