Informal video conference of Ministers for Home Affairs

Portuguese Minister for Home Affairs Eduardo Cabrita chairs informal meeting of European Union (EU) Ministers for Home Affairs.

The meeting agenda includes a discussion on the European Commission’s proposal for the New Pact on Migration and Asylum. Other items on the agenda are the guarantees of operation of the Schengen area in the context of a pandemic and Europol’s new mandate.

Also taking part in the meeting is European Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson.

At the end of the meeting, at 5 pm (Lisbon time), the Minister for Home Affairs and the European Commissioner for Home Affairs will make press statements.
