The Minister of Education, Tiago Brandão Rodrigues, will be remotely chairing the informal videoconference of Ministers of Education of the EU at 08h00 (Lisbon time) this Friday, 22 January. The meeting happens under the theme “The road to the Social Summit in Porto: the contribution of Education and Training”, in the framework of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

 

Also taking part in the meeting will be the Portuguese Minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor, European Commissioners Mariya Gabriel (Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth) and Nicolas Schmit (Jobs and Social Rights), as well as the Special Advisor to Commissioner Schmit, José António Vieira da Silva.

 

At the end of the meeting, from 12h30 (Lisbon time), Minister Tiago Brandão Rodrigues, Minister Manuel Heitor and Commissioners Mariya Gabriel and Nicolas Schmit will make statements to the press.
