High-Level Conference “Rule of Law in Europe”
Description
The Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission are jointly organising a High-Level Conference on the “Rule of Law in Europe”.
The conference will take stock of the efforts undertaken across the European Union to promote and uphold the Rule of Law, and will discuss how the EU can further promote a Rule of Law culture. It will bring together policy makers and representatives of civil society at both EU and national level, representatives of the judiciary, European judicial networks, relevant European associations, and legal practitioners. The discussions will be divided in different sessions focusing on relevant Rule of Law issues with impact on citizens’ lives.
The conference will take place on 17 and 18 May in Coimbra, Portugal, in hybrid format (allowing for participation in person or through video conference).
