High-Level Conference on “The contribution of the social economy to job creation and the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights”
Description
The social economy plays a crucial role in the European economy, creating and maintaining employment, strengthening social, economic and territorial cohesion, generating social innovation and environmental sustainability, promoting active citizenship, solidarity and an economy with democratic values, and putting people in the first place.
This conference aims to make an effective contribution to the ongoing discussion on the social economy, taking the importance of this reflexion into account, in particular for the formulation of the European Commission’s Action Plan for the Social Economy, which will be presented in the final quarter of 2021, and for the construction and consolidation of the European Pillar of Social Rights.
A moment will also be reserved for the presentation of the European Capital of the Social Economy, under the Portuguese Presidency of the Luxembourg Declaration Monitoring Committee.
