The Conference intends to act as a forum for debate in academia and society on heritage and its importance, diversity and social meaning, in particular in the context of a European population that is increasingly diversified and mobile.

The aim of the meeting is to draw up a document that offers a synthesis of the importance of the humanities’ influence and impact on society; the multi-disciplinary dynamic as a strategy for Education and R&D, to resolve important issues.

This document should be presented at the European Humanities Conference scheduled to take place in Portugal in 2021, with the co-organisation of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), the International Council for Philosophy and Human Sciences (CIPSH) and the Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation (FCT), under the programme of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
