Europeana Conference “Towards recovery: digital capacity building in the Cultural Heritage sector”

03 - 04 Jun Digital
Description

The COVID-19 crisis has highlighted more than ever the importance of access to digital cultural heritage for the sector, society and the economy. Culture has a valuable contribution to make to Europe’s recovery in a post-pandemic world.

The potential of cultural heritage should be used in achieving the ambitions of Europe’s growth strategy, contributing to a digital, green, resilient and inclusive Europe.

The conference, in collaboration with the National Library of Portugal, provides the opportunity to build on the momentum caused by the pandemic to help shape a necessary shared understanding of digital transformation and the base for a common approach to capacity building for the recovery, resilience and sustainability of the cultural sector.

We will deepen our understanding of capacity building for digital transformation across the European cultural heritage sector. We will explore what role Europeana, the European Commission, the cultural heritage institutions, the national policy makers and other key players can play in a common approach to capacity building around policy, institutional development, human capacity, change processes, and sustainability.
